If No One Is Buying Records / Music In The "Record Stores" Anymore, Wouldn't That Cause Record Labels To Go Into The Red - And Eventually Go Bankrupt 🤔 Has Anyone Ever Thought About This?

Its just my own personal opinion but I think that theres a difference between record buyers and record collectors. Collectors dont as a general rule buy mass produced records.

The 'coke bottle' version of that Velvet Underground lp was/is better because its a double lp with most of their best songs on it

Why is Thriller so in demand its available in any record shop or anywhere selling records online and it sells cheaply because there were so many made.

Hey Dillon, I always respect your opinions and I've recently viewed lots of "best sounding vinyl" vids. I'm amazed that the Peter Gabriel 45 RPM versions of his albums are never mentioned. I have several on your list to compare to and the recent PG releases are on the top of my list. I would add that the 45 RPM version of the PG album 'Security' should be making lists like this. I've not seen it mentioned once.

I was so moved by this story. Thank you for sharing it with us! I think the fact that you were the one who purchased Chris' collection and were there with his family when they found the lost recording of his band was a sign that Chris is happy with his family's decision and you were the right person to share his collection with the world. While I'm amazed by Chris' eclectic taste in music, especially because he didn't have access to the internet and was 23!, I'm even more blown away by the legacy of WHO Chris was as a human being. Without meeting Chris, it's been a gift to read about him in the comments. Thank you Chris for being such a wonderful human and spreading your light and love into this world. I love how this story of Chris' life and his love of music is able to connect us all. Music is such a great bridge--uniting us rather than dividing us.

@Noble Records new vinyl, generally sucks. Especially from MOST major labels. Classic vinyl (pre 2012) has better dynamics, detail and were actually mastered for vinyl. Nowadays there is one master used for all formats (with a few exceptions) and that usually doesn’t suit the vinyl format. The 2014 Led Zeppelin pressings are an atrocity they don’t even come close to the purple orange label originals, as are the recent Bowie boxsets compared to the original vinyl releases, the Beatles a.big examplr of how to ruin an album with a new vinyl release or what about the Stones “half speed Abbey Road” crap releases. I rather pay more money for a excellent condition original than get f@cked by the record industry ,

Vinyl was made to PLAY and ENJOY. It’s not a f@cking investment piece! That is exactly what is currently wrong with the record collecting world. It only makes the prices of (old) vinyl even higher. It becomes a trophy for rich and spoiled f@cks instead of people who simply wanna enjoy a great album pressing. You’re doing fantastic work on this channel! It’s great that you’ve taken the time to help out the beginning collectors with this video. I wish that I had someone knowledgeable to have given me advice when I began collecting when I was a 15 year old back in 1977! At that time, I felt that nobody was more collectible than Elvis Presley, who had just passed away at the time. I should have also directed attention towards other groups and artists such as KISS, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Expanding one’s horizons never hurts. Like you said, “be adventurous”!

Just picked up a brand new $20 copy and I think it sounds very good on my modest setup. I just don’t have $150 to drop on this lavish sets.

Records make far more sense slabbing than video games. So long as it's down to how PRISTINE the vinyl/materials is (ie. NEVER played/opened) I have no issue. Think about it. Say an unknown band releases a record, gets a few slabbed hot off the presses, and that unknown band makes a name for themselves, it could be a bit of an investment for them. It'll be worth NOTHING as is, but those first prints are gonna raise in value IF the band makes something of themselves and put in the work to get there. The slabbing of videogames is nothing more than fraud. Rare, pristine, vinyl is FAR harder to come by. Take The Beatles or the Stones, early career pristine records are rare enough to command the high prices they do. The fun thing about it is it's easy enough to get vinyl, so it's not like you can never play another copy. The free market is often a great thing.

Just at our record convention here in Alabama is overkill for me. I can’t imagine being at the one in Austin

OMG! Triana! Never imagined I would see a record of that band being known out of Spain. They were from my home town (Seville), and my father's favourite band, back in the 70s (he had their albums in cassette). Enjoy them!
